Create Projections

Financial Projections

Financial Projections allow you to quickly build financial and debt projections

  • Add Projections: You can add as many scenarios you need.
  • View: View saved projections by selecting the View eye icon.
  • Edit: Edit saved projections by selecting the pen icon.
  • Delete: Delete saved projections by seleting the trash icon.

Add New Projection

SETUP

  • Scenario Name
  • Descriptive/memorable name for the scenario.

  • Figures in

    • Denomination of figures. You can choose from Actual figure, Thousands, Millions or Billions
  • Projection Period in Years

    • Type in how many years you plan on building your projections.
  • Scenario Description

    • Detailed description of the scenario. Can be used to explain purpose of the scenario and key assumptions.

Once you complete the Setup or change Projection Period, a new projections form will be created reflecting the Setup:

IMPORTANT NOTE ON DATA ENTRY:

  • If no data, type in 0 instead of leaving blank. This will help ensure no assumptions or miscalculations are made because of missing data.
  • Enter percent figures as 25.3 for 25.3%
  • Consider Denomination from Setup when entering figures. For example, if Denomination is Thousands, 35000 is the correct way to enter 35 million.

REVENUE

  • Select Input Growth Rates (Percentage Rate) or Input $ Figures (Actual Figures for any line item)
  • Add Revenue Description
  • Type in Base Amount
  • Type in Percent or Actual Figure for every year.
  • You can add multiple line items with Add New Item
  • Click NEXT.

COGS

  • Select Input Growth Rates (Percentage Rate) or Input $ Figures (Actual Figures for any line item)
  • Add Cogs Label
  • Type in Base Amount
  • Type in Percent or Actual Figure for every year.
  • You can add multiple line items with Add New Item
  • Click NEXT.

EXPENSES

  • Tax Rate Assumption: Company's tax rate.
  • Select Input % of Sales (Percentage Rate) or Input $ Figures (Actual Figures)
  • Type in Expense Item
  • Type in Base Amount
  • Type in Percent or Actual Figure for every year.
  • You can add multiple line items with Add New Item
  • Click NEXT.

WORKING CAP CAPEX

Balance Sheet Items

  • Type in Current Cash Balance
  • Type in Equity Book Value in $
  • Type in Asset Book Value in $

Working Capital

  • Select % of Revenues (Percentage Rate) or Input $ Figures (Actual Figures)
  • Type in Working Capital Item
  • Type in Base Amount
  • Type in Percent or Actual Figure for every year.
  • You can add multiple line items with Add New Item.

Capital Expenditures

  • Select % of Revenues (Percentage Rate) or Input $ Figures (Actual Figures)
  • Type in Capital Expenditure Item
  • Type in Base Amount
  • Type in Percent or Actual Figure for every year.
  • You can add multiple line items with Add New Item.

Depreciation and Amortization

  • Select % of Revenues (Percentage Rate) or Input $ Figures (Actual Figures)
  • Type in Depreciation Item
  • Type in Base Amount
  • Type in Percent or Actual Figure for every year.
  • You can add multiple line items with Add New Item.
  • Click NEXT

DEBT The Debt section differs from other assumption sections. Here add any debt you want to include in projections and enter the terms of the debt.

  • Type in the Lender Name or description
  • Type in the Loan amount
  • Type in how many Months
  • Type in APR for the Annual Percentage Rate
  • Select if No Interest Only or Interest Only. If there is an Interest Only period, type in how many Periods in Months
  • Select if No Balloon Payment or Balloon Payment If there is a balloon payment enter amount. When you are done. Save it

You will now be able to View and Edit the scenario.
